Most people are not aware that the core muscles are involved in every movement they make. From driving and looking over your shoulder, to cooking dinner, to bending down to pick while cleaning, to lifting your baby from the crib, to reaching into the glove compartment for your glasses, to making love and beyond. Bending, lifting, walking, running, reaching back and forth all rely on the CORE muscles.

The core muscles hold all the hips and spine in place keeping all the postural groups of the body in place. When the core muscles are weak, they are unable to do any of those movements properly. No matter how strong your other muscles are, if the core is not strong then the other muscles become strained and fatigue, making them weak and putting strain on the joints. Much of the common aches and pains many endure in their lower back, neck muscles, abs and shoulders and more are a result of weak muscles, misalignments as a result of a weak core.

Come stretch, breathe, align, move, and dance from your CORE!! You will be astonished by how much better you feel and how much more efficiently you perform your daily activities and play!

October is the Goddess Month!!!


Dear Friends of the Sexual Griot!

October is a special month for Goddess Worship in ancient cultures around the world, and this year the Goddess has blessed the world with a new power -- the Gift of Sexual Healing. This year the Goddess has blessed the world with a new power -- the Gift of Sexual Healing. She brings this gift and power at a time when the United States and the world are experiencing a political and economic transition to a new age. New values are rising to administer society, and the Goddess is revealing Her Power to bring this transition about. Mankind has been mired in problems, suffering, and conflict for many generations, and the need of our time is for a healing power to open the heart & soul of humanity to allow holistic values to rise up and lead.

To share this gift with the world, I am concurring with the Goddess and the Society for Sacred Sexuality to offer Sexual Healing sessions anywhere in the United States or abroad that wishes to sponsor a Sex Healing & Sex Sense tour. The sessions are free of charge and are open to men, women, and children of all ages. Each sponsor group or community is responsible for travel expenses and room & board for me during the stay. This may be provided for by financially able donors, donation collection from healing participants, or other means. Sponsors are responsible for promoting the tour in their area, and scheduling sessions.

Sexual Healing involves the opening of one's life/sexual energy and the removal of blocks in the body that inhibit its natural flow. This process ultimately results in spiritual awakening, sexual enlightenment and empowerment. To use a more common lingo, it is an experience of lasting and living orgasmically. The Sex-Sense aspect involves discussions and practical explorations combined with Soulfull Yoga.

Sexual Healing can be invoked in many ways, and because sexual energy is simply the life energy, there is no need to involve sexual practice or touching at all. Appropriate methods will be used based on each individual's needs and desires. All sessions with children under 18 will be conducted with a parent or guardian in the room, and will involve no sexual contact whatsoever. Children who are not sexually active typically feel warmth, tingling sensations, and a sense of calm throughout the body, with no sexual aspect to it. While Sexual Healing does not specifically aim to address any medical condition (and no sessions will focus on specific ailments or conditions), it may somewhat alleviate them and help rebalance the chakras and body. However, under no circumstances should one substitute Sexual Healing for professional medical treatment, or delay standard treatment for it.

In addition to healing sessions, I will make myself available for group meetings - Goddess Circles - to discuss Sexual Healing, Sex-Sense, and other relevant teachings, as time allows.

For those who don't know, I evolved into the Sexual Griot due to a spontaneous awakening that occurred while training to become a yoga teacher and from the many profound and deep personal experiences throughout my life. And through years of additional studies, research, work with clients and guidance by my teachers. Now I am ready to share it. In that awakening, my own sexual energy (known as kundalini in the Tantra tradition) opened up and poured out of me as healing energy. I immediately recognized it as a distinctly feminine energy, that of the Goddess. This Goddess energy is also known as "Shakti", "Yemeya" or "Mami Wata". Besides Divine Cosmic Energy, the Goddess is also Divine Cosmic Intelligence, and She has guided me over the years to the world of Sacred Sex & Spiritual Sensuality along with its teaching. Throughout that time, healing has remained an intimate part of my life, and now the Sexual Griot is dedicated to healing the world with this beautiful Goddess Wisdom.

Do you believe in sexual healing? Has it healed you in anyway? Have you had a sexual spiritual encounter, one that is holistic in nature? Real or imagined? Are you familiar with Tantra? Sexual Energy is predominantly linked to the core of all of women’s energies. It is energy of divine dimensions that can restore health and emotional well being, once channeled, wisely.

For too long sex has been distorted and disrespected and referred to by outlandish metaphors. Sex has been frequently used as a tool for social control and manipulation – it’s been rationalized, proscribed, institutionalized, propagandized, with political implications that reach into the bedroom and at the most intimate level of our lives.

Sex-loving women are associated with put down words like whore, prostitute, slut, bad girl, loose woman, nymphomaniac, sex-addict, etc. A woman can not enjoy and love sex immensely without some negative association. Women on Top is calling the daring, bold, proactive, and sensually outspoken. This is a call to all the wonderful, warm, capable, free, grounded women that are enjoying a full range of sexual encounters and experiences. You redefine sex and sexuality. Women on Top loves and respects you and would like to memorialize you.

The Women on Top erotic project is collecting and gathering the positive and uplifting, culturally enticing, sexual stories and experiences of women of color from the far ends of the globe. You can submit a story, a poem, fiction, non-fiction, a personal narrative, forms of creative writing - real or imagined, your story or her-story. Positive sex begins with the imagination and imagination comes from our intuitive powers.

This anthology aims to provide a new base for women and others to see sex in a new and positive light. It aims to bring a sexual revolution that will penetrate and shatter the unfounded myths and narrow beliefs around sex and allow women to go on with the business of living sexually authentic.

It is not about women sleeping around or compromising their bodies. This project is above and beyond that level of consciousness. It is about women whose love for sex and sexual experiences have expanded their universe and brought harmony into their body, heart, mind, their relationships and their lives. It is about women who are freely and openly enjoying sex - safely and healthily without guilt or shame. It is about bold and courageous women sharing their positive and uplifting stories in hope that it may help another woman change hers. It is about finding our sexual voice and raising it loud and putting women on top - where we belong!!

You must be reliable, responsible, organized, independent, self-motivated, thorough and a good writer.

Interns will commit between 5-10 hours per week and can do more if so desired. You must have easy access to the internet and library, your own email account and a telephone.

Interns tasks and assignments are based on their interests and talents, and are to be mutually beneficial. This is a non-paying intern. However, you can come away from the experience, based on your performance, with:

- a resume builder
- larger network of contacts for their own planned projects
- research for their own purposes
- class credit (if doing it thru a university)
- work experience and/or
- a letter of reference
- mentorship/advice on field

CEL is a monthly online magazine bringing a holistic, cultural and spiritual dimension to sexuality and relationships. We are looking for positive, uplifting erotic pieces describing sexual fantasy or encounters and personal life experiences.

We are seeking sexual blurbs in the form of news, sexual health, tips, history and resources. We need writers and contributors from a broad spectrum of cultures and countries around the world All pieces must be positive in nature. Negative stories that are common in mainstream media and other outlets are not accepted. Poetry, graphic illustrations, photos and paintings are some of the contributions we accept.

Pieces should be 500-1000 words maximum. They must be well written and grammatically correct. Submissions must be written in the first person with a personal and conversational narrative tone.

EROTIC FICTION

CEL is looking for high quality erotic fiction with a cultural flair to be feature once a month. Stories can cover any topic within the broad range of sexuality and relationships, relatively explicit, sex positive and written expressly for mature readers.

We’re looking for stories that are more than just a sex scene. We want to see stories with interesting scenarios and fascinating characters; stories that explore the issues, emotions and wholistic trends around sex. Remember that dialogue and buildup can be just as erotic as the actual sex.

This is an opportunity to get your feet (or body) wet in the erotic writing world. It will depend on where you stand in the erotic waters which are quite vast. Stories should be a maximum of 3000 words in length.


NON FICTION FEATURE ARTICLES

The Cultural Erotic Link publishes pieces on the holistic health, creative, spiritual & cultural aspects of sex, sexuality and relationships. We are currently looking to publish feature articles by freelance contributors on a monthly basis.

We are looking for feature articles that are authoritative and fact based. The aim is to inform as well as entertain. Features need to be well written and easy to read, with a clear narrative flow. Quotes from experts or interview subjects are encouraged. This segment does NOT include opinion pieces, columns or first-person accounts by the author.

Here’s what to do: Send a brief proposal of your story idea. You should list some of your publishing credits, past writing history or qualifications, if any. First time writers are definitely encouraged. Please also provide an example of (or a link to) a feature that you have previously written.
